I’m deeply disappointed with the service and support provided by this Territorial Social and Medico-Social Services Office. The staff seemed overwhelmed, inattentive, and poor communication made the entire process extremely difficult. Despite my efforts to seek help, I felt ignored or passed around from one service to another without any real assistance. social workers are often late or don’t show up for scheduled appointments, without notice or follow-up. It has been over three months that I’ve been asking for support with something that clearly falls within their responsibilities — and yet, nothing has been done. I’ve been passed from one social worker to another, with no clear answers, no accountability, and no real follow-up. I also experienced a strong sense of exclusion based on language. Staff insist on speaking only French, even when it’s clear that the person in front of them is struggling to understand. There seems to be little effort made to assist non-French speakers — no translation, no patience, no inclusion. For a public service that’s meant to support diverse communities, this behavior feels not only unfair, but discriminatory. These offices are supposed to support people in often vulnerable situations — yet the lack of empathy and inefficiency I experienced only added to the feeling of being abandoned. I sincerely hope improvements are made to better serve the public with respect and dignity.
